Spicy Masala Fries

IMG_20160516_205152I have been to a couple restaurants looking for the perfect masala fries, usually when the plate is brought to the table it looks delish but once I start digging in something is usually off. Either the fries are hard or have a blunt taste i dont know if the masala sauce is made well with all ingredients or they just put paste and masala spice in a pan and toss the fries in. I decided to take it upon myself to make my own at home. For those who have been looking for the perfect masala fries try make your own they will become your favorite. And if you know any good place that does them well please let me know on the comment section.

  • Cooked fries
  • Onions
  • Garlic
  • Capsicum
  • Chilli
  • Carrot
  • Coriander
  • Royco cubes
  • Garam masala
  • Pilau masala
  • Curry powder
  • Salt
  • Tomato paste
  • Warm water
  • oil

Method of preparation.

  1. Wash and chop the vegetables finely into strips. I personally like them like that because they blend in with the shape of the fries.
  2. Put the chopped vegetables (exclude the coriander we shall use it for garnishing) into the pan with a little oil for them to start cooking. After five min add the paste and all the spices, add the warm water in small portions as the sauce simmers. Don’t put a lot of water because we want a thick consistency.
  3. After the sauce simmers for about 15 min add the cooked fries and mix well with two forks turn off the heat and garnish with the coriander. Serve hot and enjoy it with a cold drink.
